How did VentureWell contribute to your leadership development and your professional trajectory?
Working with VentureWell through the RADx® program gave me a much deeper understanding of government contracting and technology due diligence. Those experiences have been invaluable as Novel Microdevices, Inc. enters the commercialization phase and we navigate the complexities of scaling a federally funded diagnostics company.
What’s a key learning or takeaway from the VentureWell program you participated in, and how did it impact your journey?
I learned how important structured diligence and milestone-driven project management can be—not just for accountability, but for keeping innovation moving forward efficiently. That mindset has carried through everything we do at Novel, from research and development to regulatory planning.
What’s the biggest change or milestone your institution or venture has experienced since participating in VentureWell programming?
Novel has moved from early development into late-stage verification and manufacturing scale-up. We’re now preparing to launch our first multiplex respiratory test for influenza A, influenza B, RSV, and COVID-19—a big step toward getting rapid molecular diagnostics into real-world use.
