Dr. Aparna Ramanathan is an Ob/Gyn resident physician at the University of Texas Southwestern Medical Center and Parkland Memorial Hospital. She received her Bachelor’s of Science at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology in 2007 and her Medical Degree at the University of Texas Southwestern Medial School in 2011. Dr. Ramanathan has worked in the application of science and technology to problems in maternal health, and is currently part of the research team for JustMilk, an organization developing a device to safely administer pharmaceutical agents to babies during breastfeeding. She founded the Innovating Healthcare Solutions course as a second-year medical student in 2008 and has since been working with a team of student leaders to teach medical students how to become innovative thinkers.
