Montclair State University

Iain Kerr, Creative Practices director at the Feliciano Center for Entrepreneurship at Montclair State University, is a socio-ecological systems designer, teacher and writer. For the last fifteen years he has been actively developing and testing new models of creativity. He is a founding member of the ground breaking research and design collaborative SPURSE whose work is at the forefront of ecological design. They have collaborated with communities from the high arctic to inner cities in Bolivia developing innovative projects at the intersections of design, ecology, art and urbanism, to catalyze transformative change (projects ranging from events, to apps, to clothing, to architecture, landscape design, systems transformation, ecological management and creativity thinking). He teaches, lectures and gives workshops widely (including Harvard, Columbia, Yale, Parsons, CCA, and RISDI). His work, and that of SPURSE, is exhibited internationally (Whitney Museum of Art, The Guggenheim, Grand Arts, CAFK+A, Mass MoCA).
