Paul O’Toole is a British citizen but has lived between Chile and the UK since 1997, focussing on entrepreneurship and innovation in both countries. Paul has a B.Sc. International Politics from the the University of Wales, Aberystwyth, UK and an MBA from IEDE Business School in Spain. He has a postgraduate diploma from Columbia Business School in New York. Paul acts as non-executive director for a number of start-ups and is co-founder of Ctrax, his latest venture. Paul is currently the Managing Director of iCubo, an interdisciplinary innovation institute located within one of Chile`s leading universities – Universidad del Desarrollo. He is also on the Board of UDD Ventures, the university`s in-house start up accelerator. Prior to this, in the UK, Paul was Head of Enterprise and Incubation at Innovation RCA, an innovation and entrepreneurship hub co-funded by Royal College of Art and Imperial College London. Paul was Deputy Director UK at Wayra, Telefonica/O2’s corporate accelerator for digital start-ups and was an adviser for an initiative called Silicon Valley Comes to the UK. In Chile Paul set-up and managed various programmes including UDD`s in house accelerator programme – UDD Ventures, which focusses on medtech, cleantech and digital start-ups. In this role he worked with entrepreneurs advising on business model generation, growth hacking and helping them to secure seed and follow on funding. Paul has also worked for Endeavor, a international U.S. non-profit which focusses on high growth potential entrepreneurs, more scale up than start up. In this role he worked with other Endeavor offices around the world to help grow a global community. Paul continues to work as an international mentor for Endeavor and as a visiting coach for Innovation RCA.
