As part of Alumni and Community Engagement, Gloria Negrete directs special projects to strengthen and advance initiatives, opportunities, departmental goals and strategic advancement objectives. She worked with former Associate Vice Chancellor of Alumni and Community Engagement, Armin Afsahi, to spearhead and establish The Basement at UC San Diego. Gloria oversees relations and advancement for The Basement and continues to support development of the program in partnership with Alumni and Community Engagement units and alumni and campus leaders who serve on The Basement’s Advisory Group. Working for over nine years in higher education within the areas of program management, industry and corporate relations, advising, project management and instruction, Gloria has amassed extensive experience working in university environments. Gloria has worked in public relations as a consultant and publicist.
