Amit Mistry is a Program Manager at the U.S. Agency for International Development in Washington, D.C. where he works on the Higher Education Solutions Network (HESN), a university partnership program seeking to develop, test and scale innovative approaches to global challenges. Previously, Amit worked on food security for USAID, with a particular focus on Asia. Amit also served as a Congressional Fellow for then-Congressman Edward Markey where he advised on health, education, and science issues. He has experience at the National Academy of Engineering and taught high school science and math in New Orleans through Teach for America. Amit earned a bachelors degree in chemical engineering in 2000 and a doctorate in bioengineering in 2007, both from Rice University.
