Laura Hosman is Assistant Professor of Ethics, Public Policy, Science & Technology (EPPST) at California Polytechnic State University, holding a joint appointment in Political Science and the Science, Technology, and Society (STS) program. She has held prior academic positions at Illinois Institute of Technology, the University of California, Berkeley, and the University of Southern California (USC). With an emphasis on action-oriented, in-the-field work, her research focuses on the role for information and communications technology (ICT) in developing countries, particularly in terms of its potential effects on socio-cultural factors, human development, and economic growth. She earned an MA in International Relations as a Fulbright Scholar at the University of Amsterdam. She also holds an MA in Economics and a PhD in Political Economy and Public Policy, both from the University of Southern California (USC).
