Sharon A. Jones is the Dean of the Shiley School of Engineering at the University of Portland. She is a licensed civil engineer with degrees from Columbia University, the University of Florida, and Carnegie Mellon University. She has professional engineering experience with a large metropolitan city, a global consulting firm, and a company that she established with her husband. Over her career, she has been committed to advancing engineering pedagogy, promoting diversity in the engineering profession, and developing opportunities to bridge engineering and the liberal arts. She serves on several national boards in the engineering arena and is actively involved with engineering accreditation issues.
