Susan Halverson is the manager of grassroots entrepreneurship in the Office of Entrepreneurship + Innovation, where she focuses on making entrepreneurship training and resources more accessible to the community. She leads the Entrepreneurship Outreach Network, which is a group of libraries and economic development partners working to support entrepreneurs and small business owners in communities across the country. Susan is also part of a team developing entrepreneurship programs for high school students.
Originally from Wisconsin, Susan earned a B.S. in biological aspects of conservation from the University of Wisconsin-Madison and an M.S. in justice studies from ASU’s School of Social Transformation. She worked for four years as a community organizer in low-income neighborhoods and actively participated in movements for social, economic and environmental justice. She believes that entrepreneurship is a powerful tool to solve social problems.
