University of Texas Southwestern Medical School
Tim is a second year medical student at UT Southwestern. He has a background in Chemistry and Physics, but the Dean’s Scholars degree program at UT Austin allowed him to dabble in many interests ranging from computer science to linguistics. While at UT Austin, Tim worked as a synthetic chemist in a bioinorganic chemistry lab producing small molecule models of an enzyme’s active site. Tim’s interest in the design and application of devices began during his time working for Supermechanical. At Supermechanical, he helped to develop and produce Twine, an internet-connected sensor device. Last year, Tim worked with a team of first year medical students to design a soft tissue protecting retractor in the Biomedical Innovation elective. He is now the curriculum coordinator for Biomedical Innovation.
