William E. McHenry, Ph. D., is Executive Director of the Mississippi e-Center at Jackson State University and Professor of Organic Chemistry. Before his current appointment, Dr. McHenry served as Vice Chancellor for Academic and Student Affairs of the Oklahoma State Regents for Higher Education. He served as Assistant Commissioner for Academic and Student Affairs for the Mississippi Institutions of Higher Education and as National Science Foundation (NSF) Program Officer. He came to NSF from Mississippi State University where he served as Associate Dean of the Graduate School and Associate Professor of Chemistry. While at Mississippi State University, Dr. McHenry contributed to the rapidly growing field of Quantitative Structure Activity Relationships of biologically active compounds which resulted in a patent for an organophousous toxicant that was effective in controlling the imported fire ant.
