Elizabeth Gerber is the Junior Breed Professor of Design at Northwestern University in the Segal Design Institute, Mechanical Engineering Department, and Technology and Social Behavior Program. She has 14 years of experience in research and development of innovation curriculum. She currently teaches human-centered product design, service design, and innovation process to engineering, design, and business students. She has a M.S. in Product Design as well as a Ph.D. in Management Science and Engineering from Stanford University. While at Stanford, she was involved in developing the business, design, and innovation curriculum at the Hasso Plattner Institute of Design (d.school). Gerber’s research focuses on collective intelligence systems to support innovation. She started the Design for America initiative to support undergraduate and graduate extracurricular enterpreneurship education. Her research has been published in the top outlets for design and human computer interaction as well featured in popular press outlets such as Fast Company, Oprah, and Chicago Tribune.
