Dr. Jon Pearlman is an Assistant Professor at the Department ofRehabilitation Science and Technology and the Human Engineering ResearchLabs, University of Pittsburgh. Dr. Pearlman’s interests includeparticipatory action design, product development, and technology transfer.Dr. Pearlman has served as an instructor in these areas and has patentsrelated to the area of assistive technology (AT). Dr. Pearlman is arecipient of several grants related to AT development. Dr. Pearlman servesas Co-PI on TIPeD, a program designed to create product development teamswhose efforts will result in SBIR proposals, the next step in thecommercialization process. Additionally, he is the instructor of a two-course rehabilitation design series that engages students in client-driven AT product development activities.
