Mary M. White is a pioneer and innovator in numerous academic, entrepreneurial and service communities. She currently serves as interim vice president of Institutional Advancement and chairperson of the Department of Entrepreneurship at Jackson State University. She spearheaded the creation of a BBA degree in Entrepreneurship in 2005, the first of its kind in the state of Mississippi. She has been a Sam Walton, Price-Babson and Kauffman Fellow in Entrepreneurship, as well as a Fulbright Scholar to South Africa and the Caribbean. Further, she is co-author of The Engrossed Entrepreneurial Campus: What Our Economy and Our Academy Needs Now and has successfully directed Global Entrepreneurship activities as a Kauffman partner, Women of Color Entrepreneur conferences, a Youth Entrepreneurship Academy, a Business Entrepreneurial Scholars Program, a Small Farmers Training Initiative. A 2013 recipient of the Certificate in Social Entrepreneurship, she received the Doctor of Education at Northern Illinois University.
