Sadan Kulturel-Konak is a Professor of Management Information Systems at Penn State Berks. Dr. Kulturel’s primary research focus is modeling, analysis and optimization of complex system using metaheuristic approaches, such as Tabu Search and Genetic Algorithms, combined with techniques from probability and operations pesearch. Primary applications areas of her research include facility layout/relayout, redundancy allocation, orientering, and scheduling. In addition, Dr. Kulturel has done research on the participation of women in engineering and information technology programs and internationalizing the curriculum–building intercultural and interdisciplinary teams. Dr. Kulturel teaches courses of Project Management, Business Statistics, Management Information Systems.
