Sher Vogel

Sher Vogel

Massachusetts Institute of Technology

Sher Vogel is the Summits Coordinator for the International Development Innovation Network (IDIN), where she oversees local organizing teams in the selection, planning, implementation, and evaluation of all IDIN summits. Historically, this has referred to the community-based, month-long, hands-on International Development Design Summits (IDDS), but now this also includes a variety of shorter themed design summits such as Maternal Health or Rethink Relief. All summits are run by volunteer local organizers in tandem with international organizers who have all been former IDDS participants.

Currently, Sher is working on streamlining the summit selection process, partnership pathways, and developing the tools and trainings necessary for local organizers to scale-up the implementation of their own summits internationally. In the past eight years, IDDS has been hosted by MIT, CSU, KNUST in Ghana, USP in Brazil, NTBC in Zambia, and ECHO in Tanzania. This year, IDIN will support two summits – Rethink Relief in Uganda in late May and IDDS 2014 in Tanzania in July. IDIN is a consortium of universities comprising of MIT, Olin College of Engineer
