Stephen Linderman received his B.S. with honors in biological engineering, summa cum laude, from Cornell, where he was a Goldwater Scholar. Steve then attended the University of Cambridge on a Churchill Scholarship, where he obtained an M.Phil. with distinction in Translational Medicine and Therapeutics. Working jointly with the Clinical Pharmacology Unit at Cambridge and the pharmaceutical company GlaxoSmithKline, Steve gained experience developing novel medicines and translating research ideas into clinical realities. Before joining the Medical Scientist Training Program at Washington University for his M.D. and Ph.D. in biomedical engineering, he also worked with government advisers on reforming pharmaceutical development regulations. As an M.D.-Ph.D. candidate working with Professor Stavros Thomopoulos, Steve is studying biological and mechanical improvements for tendon-to-bone repair. Ultimately, Steve plans to develop novel research and clinical tools, guided by his clinical practice, to investigate injury and disease processes and improve medical treatments.
