A message from Phil Weilerstein, CEO and President of VentureWell.
I want to acknowledge with outrage and sorrow the rising violence and racism against Asian communities during this pandemic, and the horrific murders of 8 people in Georgia earlier this week, including 6 Asian women. To our Asian, Asian American, and Pacific Islander (AAPI) colleagues in the VentureWell network: we recognize the tremendous weight you may be feeling right now.
We stand in solidarity with our AAPI colleagues and partners, and their families and communities—and with those who experience racism at the intersection of misogyny. We will hold space for your pain, fear, and heartbreak.
Last week’s horrific attack is an ongoing reminder that we have much more work to do as innovators, inventors, entrepreneurs, and members of a global community to combat systemic racism and misogyny. On behalf of VentureWell, we will continue to show up and act in ways that deepen our commitment to equity and inclusion through our work.
