About the BME-IDEA Meeting

BME-IDEA is a dynamic community of educators, researchers, and industry leaders dedicated to advancing biomedical engineering education. Established in 2003, BME-IDEA was formed to address the unique challenges and opportunities at the intersection of biomedical engineering, innovation, design, and entrepreneurship.

Our Mission: The BME-IDEA Meeting aims to foster collaboration, share best practices, and develop new strategies for integrating innovation and entrepreneurship into biomedical engineering curricula. By bringing together a diverse group of thought leaders and practitioners, we seek to inspire and empower the next generation of biomedical engineers to tackle real-world challenges.

What We Do:

  • Annual Meeting: Our annual meeting provides a platform for educators and industry professionals to exchange ideas, discuss challenges, and explore new opportunities in biomedical engineering education. These events feature keynote speakers, panel discussions, working sessions, and networking opportunities.
  • Global Collaboration: BME-IDEA has expanded its reach beyond the United States, with meetings held in Europe and the Asia Pacific region. We are continually working to establish connections with programs in Africa and South America, fostering a truly global community of biomedical engineering innovators.
  • Innovative Curriculum Development: We support the development of cutting-edge courses and programs that integrate technology transfer, commercialization, and entrepreneurship into biomedical engineering education. Our goal is to equip students with the skills and knowledge they need to bring their innovative ideas to market.

Who This Is For:

  • Biomedical Engineering Educators: Faculty members and instructors who are teaching biomedical engineering courses and are interested in integrating innovation, design, and entrepreneurship into their curriculum.
  • Researchers and Innovators: Professionals involved in biomedical engineering research and development who seek to commercialize their innovations and connect with like-minded peers.
  • Industry Leaders: Representatives from the biomedical engineering industry looking to engage with academic leaders, discover emerging talent, and explore collaborative opportunities.
  • Higher Education Administrators: University administrators and decision-makers who are dedicated to fostering an environment of innovation and entrepreneurship within their institutions.
  • Students and Postdoctoral Researchers: Advanced students and postdoctoral researchers in biomedical engineering who are eager to expand their knowledge, network with industry professionals, and learn about career pathways in innovation and entrepreneurship.

Don’t miss this opportunity to connect with leading educators, industry professionals, and innovators in the field of biomedical engineering. Register now to secure your spot at this year’s meeting.
