Cultivating Creativity: An interactive workshop

Workshop participants will complete creativity exercises developed by the author to elicit a range of creative behaviors. Following each exercise–some done individually, some in small groups–participants will review products, discuss the thought/action processes involved in their creation and consider the creative behavior and thought patterns that each exercise encourages. Exercises explore topics such as: realistic vs. metaphorical thinking; the interplay of destruction and creation; thinking with hands; developing rapid responses/thinking on your feet; creative invention through exploratory play; becoming comfortable working in ambiguous contexts; making, & learning from, mistakes; and the influences of values and beliefs on creative thinking and action.

Participants in this intensely interactive workshop will leave with a renewed excitement/awareness of their creative potentials and an understanding of some methods and techniques for encouraging creative thought and action in others.
