Staying Ahead of the Institutional Game: Tactics for fostering entrepreneurship and innovation at universities

““We can’’t do that, Risk Management at State University won’’t let us”” is a statement we often hear at universities. Moreover we often share tales of how the institution that we are a part of does its best to quash entrepreneurial initiative. In this Open Exchange we will facilitate a peer-led discussion about overcoming institutional logics to facilitate entrepreneurship and innovation. Specifically we will address three to five institutional barriers and crowdsource corresponding innovator responses to overcome these barriers. Our session will yield new discovery on means to innovate and perhaps provide group therapy for seasoned entrepreneurship educators.
