VentureWell and The Lemelson Foundation today released the Engineering for One Planet Strategic Roadmap, which details a vision for how the Engineering for One Planet (EOP) initiative can expand in reach and influence over the next five years.

The scaling strategy outlined in the report is based on input and ideas generated by more than 100 stakeholders at the EOP Scaling for Impact workshop, which was held in 2022 in partnership with The Lemelson Foundation, with the financial support of the National Science Foundation.

“Engineers hold tremendous potential to serve as changemakers in sustainability efforts,” said VentureWell President and CEO Phil Weilerstein. “We hope this roadmap will ultimately equip and empower them to build a more sustainable future for our planet. We are excited to see EOP scale its efforts in transforming the national engineering curriculum across the United States.”

To date, 33 higher education institutions have received funding to use EOP’s resources to support curricular changes by more than 100 faculty members, impacting 10,000 students across close to 200 courses. EOP’s Strategic Roadmap is the latest addition to the initiative’s robust catalog of open-source resources being used by faculty and institutions without direct grant funding.
