Developing a Country-level Launch Plan for Global Health Innovations

To help accelerate the scale and impact of global health innovations, USAID’s Center for Accelerating Innovation and Impact developed the IDEA to IMPACT Series. This series shares guidance to help practitioners scale global health innovations and accelerate impact through better coordination and earlier planning, business model design and partnership evaluation, and country-level planning for launch. Our newest addition to this Series, Ready, Set, Launch: A Country-Level Launch Planning Guide for Global Health Innovations, brings a sharp focus to the critical pivot from global product development to targeted country selection and launch planning. With input from over fifty diverse practitioners, and lessons gathered from successful and not-so-successful launches, Ready, Set, Launch provides support in developing a comprehensive scale-up strategy and operational launch plan through three steps: 1) country prioritization, 2) strategy development, and 3) implementation planning; includes a toolkit with editable tools/templates; and features real-world examples through case studies and vignettes.
