We are happy to announce that VentureWell is an investor in the first seed round for Kinnos Inc., a start-up healthcare company that develops technologies to prevent surface-transmitted infections. Kinnos raised $1 million in seed round funding, led by Georgica Advisors, with participation from New York Angels, VentureWell, and other strategic angel investors.
Kinnos, which began as a student team at Columbia University, participated in every stage of our E-Team Program–Stages 1, 2 and 3–receiving $25k in grants and venture development training training and coaching. The E-Team Program provides funding, immersive workshops, and specialized coaching to student STEM innovators to help them move their inventions into the marketplace.
Kinnos was also featured as part of a PBS NewsHour segment on our Open Minds event, a showcase of student invention that takes place each year at OPEN, our annual conference. Watch the video:
