Techniques and Tools for Integrating Sustainability in the Classroom and Beyond—OPEN ’23 Foundation Session

There is growing interest among faculty and students in sustainability. However, if you are new to the topic of sustainability, it can be challenging to know how to integrate it into your innovation and entrepreneurship courses and programs. Learn from three different campuses how they have worked to center sustainability. The different sustainability integration efforts will range from singular courses at the graduate and undergraduate level, to a minor, to a cross-campus makerspace—each spanning disciplines that include engineering, business, and liberal arts. Panelists share approaches for identifying topics for immersive, project-based learning, and different tools you can use to support the student experience. The conversation also covers metrics for measuring impact and learning outcomes. Speakers:
Isaac Wanasika, University Of Northern Colorado; Maggie Schoonover, Wichita State; Carlee Bishop, Agnes Scott College; Nell Ruby, Agnes Scott College.
